One of MMRMA's hallmarks is its risk management program. Since its earliest days, MMRMA's founders and participants have understood the importance of avoiding risk. Their commitment has allowed MMRMA to be at the forefront of risk control innovations that have proven effective, time and again, at preventing and reducing occurrences and claims.
Most risk control services are provided to MMRMA members at no additional charge. These benefits of membership include:
- On-site inspections
- Assistance in managing specific risks
- Model policies and procedures
- Training for member employees
In addition, MMRMA introduced Risk Avoidance Program (RAP) grants in 1997 to help members fund risk management projects. RAP has provided over $10 million in financial assistance to the membership to date.
MMRMA regularly earns national recognition for its cutting-edge risk management programs and materials. The national Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) has presented awards in its pooling category to MMRMA many times over the years. Winning entries have included:
