Membership Committee Updates RAP Guidelines, Deadlines

Posted: Monday, November 25, 2013

At its August 14, 2013 meeting, the Membership Committee reviewed and approved changes and additions to the Standard RAP Grant Guidelines. These guidelines are used to provide funding limits, including lifetime aggregate limits, for some of the most poular requests for Risk Avoidance Program (RAP) funding. Notable additions include:

  • SCADA Control System Software
  • Fire Pit Rings
  • Thermal Imaging Cameras
  • Concrete Scarifier
  • Prisoner/Detainee Partitions for Vehicles
  • In Car Cameras for Fire Vehicles

The Membership Committee met again on November 14, 2013, and considered further additions/revisions to the Standard Grant Guidelines. An additional standard grant concerning Bleacher Replacement was added. The largest revisions concerned the In Car Camera Standard Grant. At this meeting, the Membership Committee approved a seven-year rolling aggregate for in car cameras funding. Any in car camera grants older than seven years will drop from the aggregate limit that is currently imposed upon members. The established aggregate limit of $30,000 remains the same. Click here to access a revised list of Standard RAP Grants.

Finally, the Membership Committee discussed current application deadlines. Establishement of future deadlines will now depend on the dates of Membership Committee meetings. Rather than have established static deadlines as we have in the past, future deadlines will be set 30 days prior to the date of the next Membership Committee meeting. Current deadlines will be posted on the MMRMA website.

A listing of grants approved at the November meeting can be accessed by clicking here. If you have any questions regarding the aforementioned changes, please contact Cara Kowal, Risk Control Coordinator, at 734-513-0300 or
