Announcement: Cindy King Joining MMRMA Staff

We are pleased to announce the upcoming addition of Cindy King to the MMRMA team on August 16, 2017.  Cindy will be our Director of Membership Services and Human Resources.  This newly created position is designed to address current organizational needs and implement many long-term strategic initiatives, allowing us to further enhance the services we provide to members.

Among Cindy’s primary responsibilities will be overseeing our Risk Control team in a supervisory capacity, with a focus on member outreach, risk control education, and training. She will serve as our risk control subject matter expert on employment and labor issues.  Working with each department, Cindy will also direct our in-house human resources activity. This is a key role given anticipated future staff succession.

Cindy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new endeavor, most recently as chief personnel officer for the City of Westland and as an instructor with Wayne County Community College District. She served 16 years in elective office for Van Buren Township, including 8 years as township supervisor. Cindy holds a B.A. in human resources administration.  

Already a very familiar face at MMRMA, Cindy has nearly 30 years of involvement with our organization in a variety of capacities. She is a member on both our Administrative Risk Control Advisory Committee and Events Planning Committee. She also served previously as a Member Representative and as an elected member of the MMRMA Board of Directors. 

“I look forward to joining the team in this exciting role,” Cindy tells us. “It will be rewarding to help MMRMA achieve its goals of innovative, relevant service to members.”

Cindy's familiarity with MMRMA and her leadership experience at the executive level of two member municipalities will allow her to lend a broad, unique perspective to our organization.
