MMRMA Updates Risk Control Guidelines for Volunteers in the Workplace

Posted: Thursday, December 5, 2019

The Administrative Risk Control Advisory Committee recently reviewed MMRMA's brochure entitled Volunteers in the Workplace: Managing the Risk and released a Winter 2019 update.

In this time of ever-tightening budgets, many governmental entities are relying more and more on the use of volunteers. In addition, some schools now require students to complete a minimum number of volunteer hours in order to receive their degrees. A number of people are also looking for ways to “give back” to their communities by volunteering their time.

The revised brochures provide up-to-date, valuable information on how members can manage risks associated with operating a volunteer program.

Member employees with an MMRMA.org user account can log in and retrieve the document on the Members Only page under Model Policies and Procedure Brochures in the Administrative folder.

If you have questions about this document or need further risk control assistance, please contact MMRMA's Membership Services department.
