MMRMA Claims Records Coordinator Vera Vasquez Retires

Posted: Monday, February 11, 2013

Claims Records Coordinator Vera Vasquez is retiring this month after working for MMRMA and its partners for almost 25 years.

Vera first worked for Cummings, McClorey, Davis & Acho (CMDA), then for Municipal Claims Service (MCS), which provided claims adjusting services to MMRMA. In 1992, when claims services were brought in-house, Vera joined the MMRMA staff.

"It’s like a family,” says Vera. “The company treats us so well, and everyone always provides help if you need it.” Still, she feels that it’s time to move on and let someone else have the opportunity she had. “I really appreciate MMRMA and everyone here,” she adds. “It’s been like another home, and I’ll miss it.”

The feeling is mutual. “Vera’s sunny personality has made it an absolute pleasure to work with her,” says Director of Claims Michael Ellis. “We’ll all miss her, not to mention her amazing ability to somehow know the location of every file at every moment.”

Speaking of her filing skills, Vera’s post-retirement plans include organizing some papers at home that could use her attention. But first, she and her husband Carl will travel to visit friends and family out west, including a daughter and granddaughter who recently relocated to Arizona. The couple’s other three daughters and five grandchildren reside in the Canton area, and Vera looks forward to spending more time with them, as well as tending her yard and garden.

“We appreciate Vera’s longstanding dedication to MMRMA,” says Executive Director Michael Rhyner. Please join us in wishing Vera Vasquez a long, happy, and healthy retirement.
